The best AI visibility tools in 2026, compared on what they actually do

Twelve tools, their public pricing, engine coverage and what each one really does for an ecommerce brand. Read on vendor pages on 16 September 2026.

US searches for "best ai visibility tools" grew about 147% quarter over quarter, and "best generative engine optimization tools" roughly 352%, per Google Ads data pulled in September 2026. The category filled up fast, and most circulating comparison pages copy stale pricing from each other. Everything below was read on the vendors' own pages on 16 September 2026.

Public entry pricing

  • Rankscale, Vienna-based: from $20/month, roughly 1,200 engine answers of credit.
  • Otterly, Austria-based: $29/month for 15 tracked prompts, then $189 and $489.
  • Peec AI, Berlin-based: $95 or €85 for 50 prompts across three engines, then $245 and $495.
  • Promptwatch, Amsterdam-based: free tier, then $95, $245 and $579.
  • Semrush: AI visibility module at $99/month for one domain and 25 prompts.
  • Ahrefs Brand Radar: bundled into paid plans from $129/month, with tight prompt caps and paid add-ons.
  • Scrunch: $250/month for Core, 125 prompts and four engines.
  • Athena HQ: free tier with a starting credit, then $295/month.
  • Goodie: $399/month for 100 prompts and five models.
  • Gauge: a single self-serve plan at $599/month.

Most comparisons rank these tools by how many engines they cover. It is the least useful criterion available. A tool advertising seventeen engines while giving you fifteen tracked prompts will tell you very little about your category, because fifteen questions do not cover a product range.

What matters is tracked prompts relative to the width of your catalog. A brand with three product families and four typical use cases needs dozens of prompts before the measurement means anything. Below that, you are buying an impression rather than a measurement.

What almost none of them do

Two capabilities are missing from nearly all of these products, and they are the two an ecommerce brand cares about most.

The first is writing back to the catalog. Observing that a product record lacks an attribute is useful; adding it requires write integration with your store, which most of these tools do not have. Peec AI can ingest a Shopify catalog for tracking, and Goodie advertises several commerce integrations, but observation and correction remain two distinct jobs.

The second is revenue attribution. Across every tool verified on 16 September 2026, only Goodie publicly documents attributing revenue. The rest measure visibility. That gap becomes decisive the day your leadership asks what this budget line returns.

Where Tadow sits

We do not claim to be the cheapest or to cover the most engines. Plans run from €89/month with ChatGPT and 50 tracked prompts to €399 with the full engine set, AI Mode and 300 prompts. What we do that few do is chain three steps inside one product: measure visibility, prepare the Shopify catalog fix that you approve before anything publishes, then attribute influenced revenue in euros. If you only need the first step, several tools on this list do it well and cost less.
