Best budget AI visibility tools in 2026: Rankscale, Promptwatch and Gauge

Under $100 a month the options are real, and mostly European. Here is what each one gives you, and exactly where each one stops.

Not every brand has $500 a month for AI visibility, and that is a perfectly defensible position until the topic has proven its value at your company. The low end of this market is better stocked than people assume, and largely European. Read on 16 September 2026.

Rankscale: the cheapest, and Vienna-based

Rankscale starts at $20/month for roughly 1,200 engine answers, then $99, $385 and $780 on higher tiers. The vendor, Rankscale GmbH, is registered in Vienna. Seats are unlimited and advertised coverage exceeds seventeen engines. They also offer a free URL audit with no account required.

Credit-based billing, where one credit equals one engine answer, needs arithmetic before you compare: measuring 30 prompts daily across three engines burns roughly 2,700 answers a month.

Promptwatch: a permanent free tier, Amsterdam-based

Promptwatch offers a free tier, then plans at $95, $245 and $579 a month. The vendor is a Dutch company based in Amsterdam with a New York office, covering around ten engines.

One methodological caution: the per-plan limits are not readable in their pricing page source without running scripts, and several third-party articles quote figures that contradict the vendor's own published price. Get the caps in writing before committing.

Gauge: one plan, and not at $99

Gauge sells a single self-serve plan at $599/month, with 600 prompts run daily, five seats and six platforms, plus a custom enterprise tier. So it is not a budget tool, contrary to several comparison articles citing a $99 starter tier. That tier does not exist on their pricing page, which is a useful reminder about copied comparison content.

What you will not get at this price

  • None of these three documents a Shopify integration or product-level tracking.
  • None documents revenue attribution.
  • Prompt volumes suit a brand, rarely a wide catalog.
  • Support is generally email-only on entry plans.
  • Billing is in dollars at at least two of them, despite European incorporation.

Our advice, even though it does not favour us

If you are not sure AI visibility is a real issue for your brand, start with a free checker, then run one of these for two months. You will learn whether you get cited, against whom, and whether it moves. That is a few dozen euros spent on a decision worth considerably more.

The moment to change tools is when your question shifts from "do I exist" to "which products are missing and what is that costing me". At that point a measurement tool alone leaves you with a list of findings and no way to act on them. That is when a product like ours makes sense, and not before.
