How to get AI to re-crawl your product page after a fix

Publishing a fix isn't enough: the AI still has to re-read it, and that invisible lag can be managed with the right levers

Fixing a product page is the easy part. What gets forgotten is that the AI that was misrepresenting it keeps doing so until it re-reads the new version, sometimes weeks after the fix goes live.

Between publishing a fix and an AI engine actually picking it up, there's an invisible lag that many brands discover too late, after assuming they'd solved a problem that, from the AI's point of view, still exists.

Why a published fix isn't the same as a seen fix

AI answer engines don't re-read the web continuously: they partly rely on indexes built by traditional search engines, each with its own crawl schedule. A page fixed today can stay invisible to an AI until those underlying indexes have themselves caught up.

Say a brand corrects a price shown on a page after a sync error. Two weeks later, an AI still cites the old price, not out of bad faith, simply because it hasn't re-read the page since the fix went live.

How to speed up the re-crawl after a fix

  • Publish each corrected product page as soon as it's ready, rather than batching fixes over several weeks
  • Notify the search engines that feed part of the AI answer that the page has changed, via a signal like IndexNow for Bing
  • Check that the page is actually reachable by AI crawlers (see your robots.txt) so you're not adding a block on top of the lag
  • Give it a reasonable amount of time before concluding the fix didn't work
  • Re-check what the AI says about that specific product after that delay, not just your overall brand visibility

This re-read step is what closes the loop: measure what the AI says, fix the page, then confirm the fix was actually seen rather than just published. Tadow can notify Bing after a fix to speed up that re-crawl, and lets you re-check the visibility of that specific product once the delay has passed, instead of guessing whether the correction paid off.
