MAP → FIX → PROVE: the framework for steering AI visibility
The three-step framework, measure, fix, prove, for steering your brand's visibility in AI answer engines
2 min read
AI answer engines, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, or Google AI Overviews, have become a real discovery channel for e-commerce, but most DTC brands have no process to manage it. They check, occasionally, whether they show up in an answer. They have no method to measure that visibility over time, no process to act on it, and no way to know what it's worth. MAP → FIX → PROVE is the framework that fills that gap, in three connected steps.
MAP: measuring AI visibility, product by product
MAP means measuring, engine by engine, whether and how your brand and your products show up in AI answers: are you recommended, ignored, or cited next to a better-positioned competitor? This measurement doesn't stop at the brand level; it goes down to the product level, because a brand can be well known while still being absent from the specific queries that lead to a purchase. It's the mandatory starting point: you can't fix what you haven't measured.
FIX: fixing the catalog to become the recommended product
- The structured product data that AI engines read to understand a listing
- Product page content: descriptions, specifications, elements that are missing or confusing
- Product pages only, never the theme or the storefront experience your customers see
PROVE: proving the AI-influenced revenue, in euros
PROVE closes the loop. Once a fix is published, the goal is to connect the recovered visibility to real Shopify orders and express the result in euros of AI-influenced revenue, by product. Without this step, MAP and FIX stay a technical exercise whose value nobody outside the team running it can measure.
The three steps only work connected to each other: MAP without FIX is a finding that leads nowhere, and FIX without PROVE is an action with no known result. That full loop, measure, fix, prove, is what Tadow builds for Shopify brands that want to run their AI visibility like any other growth channel.
