Prompt

A prompt is the natural-language query a user sends to an AI engine to get an answer, such as a question asked of ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity. It is the conversational equivalent of the keyword in traditional search. For a DTC brand, understanding which prompts do or do not surface its products is the starting point of any AI visibility work.
