Best GEO agencies in 2026: how to shortlist when nobody publishes a price
There is no credible ranking of GEO agencies, and the 2026 directories prove it. Here are the seven questions that separate a real practice from a renamed SEO offer.

"Best geo agencies" grew about 118% quarter over quarter in the US and "top geo agencies" roughly 2,050% year over year, per Google Ads data pulled in September 2026. "Best aeo agency" is up about 200% quarter over quarter. Real demand, and no good public answer: there is currently no independent, verifiable ranking of GEO agencies.
The 2026 directories make the point themselves. Searchbloom's ten-agency list publishes no prices and says most firms do not disclose rates. AEO Vision lists sixty-plus agencies with no pricing at all. GenOptima ranks twelve agencies partly on pricing transparency while sourcing none of its own figures. Of 24 US agency sites we loaded on 16 September 2026, 18 published no price. Rankings here are mostly published by participants, so we will not publish one either.
Seven questions for the call
- How many tracked prompts do you measure me on, and how often? Below a few dozen measured regularly, no trend is readable.
- Which tool do you use, and is its cost included or marked up? Many agencies resell a vendor subscription with margin.
- What exactly do you do to my product pages, and who writes to my store? This is where offers diverge most sharply.
- How do you measure that a fix produced an effect, and what happens when it did not?
- Which engines do you measure, and do you include the Google surfaces? ChatGPT-only measurement ignores part of your market.
- What contract length and notice period? Terms diverge sharply: Siege Media asks clients to commit to a six-month-plus horizon, while Thrive advertises no long-term commitment and RevenueZen bills month to month.
- What happens if my products are not eligible for merchant channels at all, missing barcodes or a store closed in a market?
Three warning signs
An agency guaranteeing a position in ChatGPT. No such guarantee is defensible, because nobody controls a generative engine's output and it varies between sessions.
A proposal with no baseline measurement. Without a snapshot before the work starts, nothing can be demonstrated afterwards, which is occasionally the point.
An agency proposing twenty articles a month as the first action. In ecommerce the first blocker is nearly always product data or crawler access, and producing content before addressing those is filling a leaking bucket.
When to skip the agency
An agency earns its fee when you need production: content, digital PR, presence in the roundups your category gets compared in. Those are human jobs and software does not replace them.
It earns less when your need is knowing where you stand and fixing a catalog. Software does that part faster, cheaper and reproducibly. That is the part our product covers, and we tell brands whose real problem is brand authority that a tool will not solve it.
