What a GEO agency costs in 2026: published rates, not market estimates

We loaded 24 US agency sites and three 2026 directories. Six published a price. Here is every figure we found, and why so few publish one.

"GEO agency" costs around $44 a click in the US and "ai seo agency" about $45, per Google Ads data pulled in September 2026, with the latter up roughly 190% year over year. Clicks priced like that mean comfortable margins downstream. Establishing how comfortable turned out to be the hard part.

We loaded 24 US-marketed GEO and AEO agency sites on 16 September 2026. Six published a price. Eighteen routed us to a proposal request. Three 2026 directories tell the same story: Searchbloom's list of ten publishes nothing and says so, AEO Vision's directory of sixty-plus carries no per-agency pricing, and GenOptima's ranking of twelve publishes figures it attributes to no source, several of which we could not find anywhere on the named agencies' own sites.

The figures that are actually published

  • WebFX: GEO services at $3,000 a month, covering AI query research, content assets and visibility tracking software.
  • Percepture, New York: four tiers from $3,500 to $10,000+, priced by content volume, two to eight pieces a month, with digital PR from $4,500 as an add-on.
  • RevenueZen, Portland: six tiers from $3,000 to $15,000, month to month with no long-term contract.
  • Digital Elevator: sprints from $3,000, ongoing off-site work from $3,495 per 30-day cycle, a full three-pillar program at $9,000 to $24,000+.
  • Avante Visibility, Las Vegas: a one-off GEO audit at a flat $5,000, delivered in about ten business days, with a 90-day re-measure included and no retainer.

A sixth published a full tier grid but names no team, no city and no clients, so we left it out. Five quotable agencies is not a market, but they converge tightly: entry around $3,000 to $3,500, mid tier $5,000 to $8,500, top published tier $10,000 to $15,000. One detail from RevenueZen's published grid is worth the whole exercise. A quarterly AI visibility audit appears only at their $10,000 tier, and a monthly one only at $15,000. That is $180,000 a year for a measurement cadence that software performs daily.

What survey data exists, and its limits

No GEO pricing survey with a disclosed sample exists. Every "$2,000 to $10,000 a month" range saturating search results traces back to an unsourced agency blog post, frequently written by a firm selling against the agencies it prices.

What does exist measures budgets rather than rates. Conductor surveyed 250+ US enterprise marketing leaders in April 2026: enterprises put an average of 12% of digital budgets into AEO in 2025, and 94% planned to increase it in 2026. Aleyda Solis's SEOFOMO survey of 171 professionals in August 2026 found 69% now have an AI search budget, against 38% a year earlier. For a retainer anchor you have to fall back on SEO data: Ahrefs surveyed 439 providers in 2024 and found an average monthly retainer of $2,917.

The honest comparison against software

A $3,000 monthly retainer is $36,000 a year. AI visibility tools with published pricing run roughly $20 to $800 a month, so $240 to $9,600 a year. The gap buys human time: writing, digital PR, strategy, and someone accountable for the outcome.

So the question is what your bottleneck actually is. If your product pages lack attributes and your robots.txt blocks AI crawlers, no agency outperforms a tool that finds the problem and prepares the fix, and the agency will charge you ten times more to reach the same conclusion.

If your bottleneck is authority and third-party coverage, software will not solve it. It will tell you the problem exists, and you will still need someone to write and to earn citations. For many mid-sized brands the honest answer is both: a tool for measurement and catalog work, a person for content.
