Best GEO tools in 2026, sorted by the job they actually do

Prompt trackers, technical auditors and attribution tools solve different problems. Here is the map, sorted by job to be done rather than by marketing claim.

"GEO tools" covers at least four different jobs, and that ambiguity causes most buyer disappointment. A brand buys a prompt tracker expecting it to fix a catalog, or an audit module expecting it to prove revenue. Here is the map, with public pricing read on vendor pages on 16 September 2026.

1. Track what the engines answer

The crowded job. Otterly starts at $29/month for 15 tracked prompts across four engines, with Gemini and AI Mode as paid add-ons. Peec AI, Berlin-based, starts at $95 for 50 prompts across three engines of your choosing. Promptwatch, Amsterdam-based, starts at $95. Rankscale, Vienna-based, starts at $20. Scrunch runs $250/month for Core, and is now a Sitecore company. Profound publishes no price at all: a free trial of ten prompts run once on ChatGPT, then a custom enterprise quote.

The useful buying criterion is not the advertised engine count. It is how many tracked prompts your budget buys, because that determines whether your measurement covers your category or a sample too thin to support a conclusion.

2. Audit technical access

A simpler job, usually bundled. Rankscale offers a URL audit with no account. Peec AI includes a crawlability audit spanning 40+ bots. Several classic SEO suites will now tell you whether you block GPTBot. A dedicated subscription for this task alone rarely pays for itself.

3. Fix the product catalog

A much rarer job, because it requires write access to your store rather than read-only observation. Peec AI can ingest a Shopify catalog for product-level tracking. Goodie advertises Shopify, BigCommerce and Google Merchant Center integrations. Tadow writes a machine-readable version of your product records into dedicated fields, after your approval, without ever modifying the customer-facing page.

4. Prove the revenue

The least covered job on the market. Among the tools we verified on 16 September 2026, none of the four best-known trackers documents a revenue-attribution feature publicly. Goodie claims one on its product page. This is Tadow's PROVE pillar, and it is the only layer that converts a visibility score into a budget argument.

  • You want to know whether you exist at all: a free checker is enough to start.
  • You want a trend: you need a prompt tracker, with a prompt budget proportionate to your catalog.
  • You want to fix things: you need write integration with your store, which most tools do not have.
  • You want to defend a budget: you need a number in currency, or you will present a score nobody can interpret.
  • You want all four: check they live in one product, or you will pay three subscriptions and reconcile the numbers by hand.
